Acworth, GA Moving FAQ

The questions we hear most often around the Lake City, answered plainly.

Acworth Advantage Movers crew loading boxes into the moving truck in Acworth

A local you can actually reach

Dial the office and a Cobb County crew member answers — never a distant call bank. Walk us through the rooms and the tight spots, and we map the whole job before your date lands.

A flat quote, no move-day math

Pads, dollies, shrink-wrap and wardrobe boxes are folded into the figure we hand you, so the total after the last carton matches the one you agreed to going in.

Pack the whole house or just the china

Cabinets fill dish barrels, closets fill wardrobe cartons, and every mirror, flat-screen or stone counter rides in a crate cut to its size.

The same faces, Acworth to your door

The chief who sizes up your home leads the truck and walks the final look-through with you — nobody hands your load off halfway.

Here’s what neighbors want settled before they hand us a date — how our pricing works, what we cover, licensing, protection, and the lake-house and stair jobs that are common around here. Still stuck on something? Call (888) 278-9005 and Garrett or Bailey will talk it through.

The short version

  • Two movers and a truck: $135/hr; three movers: $189/hr; one-hour minimum
  • Free $0.60-per-pound coverage, with full-value protection if you want it
  • We cover Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow and Paulding counties, plus long-distance
Is Acworth Advantage Movers a real moving company, or a booking service?
Correct — this is a genuine, owner-operated moving company: licensed, insured and Acworth-based, and we crew and drive every job ourselves in our own trucks and uniforms. Your job never gets brokered out or sold along to some other carrier.
How much should I budget for a local move?
We bill by the hour: $135 covers a two-mover truck, and it's $189 once a third mover joins, with a single-hour minimum. Every crew rolls up with wardrobe cartons, shrink-wrap, dollies and moving blankets already aboard, and none of it is a line item. Smaller places often price flat — a studio runs $370 to $580, a two-bedroom $660 to $1,060.
Do you move lake houses with docks or boat lifts?
All the time. Marquis leads our crews on Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona docks, the long carries down to the water, and the specialty pieces those homes tend to hold.
Can you take a move out of Georgia?
Yes. Hollis runs our long-distance loads up and down I-75 and I-575 under our US DOT and MC authority, with one crew from pickup to delivery.
If something gets broken, what covers my stuff?
Basic released-value protection of $0.60 a pound rides free on every shipment. You can upgrade to full-value coverage, and cargo protection runs up to $1,000,000 per shipment. On interstate moves you have nine months from delivery to file a claim.
Can you hold my things between closings?
We can. Your load sits padded and secured in clean, dry short-term storage, and we redeliver once you have the keys — a common ask when a sale and a purchase don't line up.
How far ahead should I book, especially in summer?
Booking a couple of weeks out is plenty for the bulk of the calendar. The exceptions are end-of-month weekends and the sticky, pollen-heavy stretch of Georgia summer — those go quickly, so lock in early once your date is firm.
Do you handle stairs, pianos and no-elevator walk-ups?
Yes. Deshawn's crew works the downtown Acworth and Marietta Square walk-ups, and Marquis handles pianos and gun safes — we pad the rails and treads and map the carry before we load.

How a Move With Us Actually Runs

  1. 1

A quick quote, usually inside ten minutes

On our end: Give us the room count, say whether it’s a stair carry or a straight walk-out, and point us to where the truck can pull in — a firm number heads right back to you.

Where you help: Have your dates and any HOA or lake-community gate rules handy; those details are what turn a ballpark into an exact figure.

  2. 2

We lock your date and sort the access

On our end: We line up the parking, the gate code and any elevator window with your building or subdivision ahead of time, so on the day the truck backs right to the door instead of parking a lot away.

Where you help: Pin down both ends — move-out and move-in — and hand us whichever date has the least give in it.

  3. 3

    Everything gets padded and wrapped

On our end: Blankets go over every piece, sofas get shrink-wrapped, and bed frames and table legs break down into hardware bags tagged to each item.

Where you help: Label your boxes by the room they belong in, and keep documents, keys and small valuables with you rather than on the truck.

  4. 4

Load, drive, unload, then a final walk

On our end: The crew that loads in Acworth is the crew that carries in at the far end — each piece placed where you point, beds rebuilt, and every scrap of used wrap hauled off before we roll.

Where you help: Do a lap of the place with the chief before the truck leaves, while anything not quite right is still free to fix.

Wondering what your move will cost?

Send over a few details — your home size, the day you’re after and everything riding the truck — and a quote reaches your inbox the same day. No charge, no deposit, just a solid figure to build your plans around.

  • Licensed and insured under Georgia household-goods moving authority, plus US DOT and MC authority for interstate work
  • You approve the figure up front, and it’s the same total the crew works to on move day
  • Every mover is uniformed, on our own W-2 payroll, and rides in our own trucks
